What is outside school hours care in Westmead?

Outside school hours care (OSHC) looks after school-age children before and after the school day and during school holidays, so parents can work while their children stay somewhere safe, familiar and fun. Our Westmead OSHC is run by the same family-owned Jolly Frog team that has cared for Westmead, Parramatta and Wentworthville families since 1959.

It is designed for children at Westmead Public School: we pick them up from school and look after them at our Westmead centre, with experienced educators, outdoor play, creative and group activities, time to unwind after the school day, and optional homework or quiet time.

Before school, after school and vacation care in Westmead

  • Before school care

A settled, supervised start to the day before the school bell, for Westmead Public School children. Our centre opens at 8:00 AM on weekdays.

Call us for before school care rates.

  • After school care

School pick-up from Westmead Public School, then afternoon care until the centre closes, with outdoor play, creative and group activities, and optional homework or quiet time.

    $35 per session, before subsidy.

  • Vacation care

A school-holiday program with age-appropriate activities, outdoor play and excursions where applicable, in a familiar environment.

Call us for vacation care rates.

All three are available only at our Westmead centre and only for children attending Westmead Public School. Places are limited.

OSHC fees & Child Care Subsidy

Most families do not pay the full session fee. Outside school hours care at an approved service attracts the Child Care Subsidy (CCS), paid directly to the service, so you pay only the gap.

  • After school care at our Westmead centre is $35 per session before subsidy.
  • Before school care and vacation care rates are not published online. Call us on (02) 9635 6149 for those rates and an estimate of what you would actually pay after subsidy.
  • Families earning up to $88,520 receive the maximum 90% Child Care Subsidy rate.

See how the subsidy works, with current government figures, on our fees and Child Care Subsidy page.

Fees

At Jolly Frog Kindergarten, we keep our fees clear and transparent.

As an approved Child Care Subsidy (CCS) provider, eligible families receive government assistance to reduce their fees. CCS is paid directly to the service, and families pay the remaining gap.

Our daily fees, before subsidy:

  • 0 – 2 years: $150 a day (8am – 6:30pm)
  • 2 – 5 years: $85 a day (8am – 6:30pm)
  • After school care: $35 per session

We also offer NSW Start Strong fee relief for eligible children. Jolly Frog is funded at the maximum rate, so in 2026 it is worth:

  • Children aged 4 and above: up to $2,563 a year
  • 3-year-olds: up to $769 a year

This funding is applied directly to your fees. See how CCS and Start Strong combine on our fees and subsidy page.

Please ensure your CCS is confirmed through MyGov before starting.
